Terrain หนึ่งในความสำคัญของงานออกแบบภูมิสถาปัตยกรรม คือความหลากหลายของลักษณะที่ตั้งและสภาพแวดล้อมในแต่ละภูมิประเทศ หรือ Terrain ในหนังสือ Embracing the Landscape ของ L49 จึงเล่าเรื่องราวผ่านผลงานที่ได้ทำตลอด 30 ปี ออกเป็น Terrain ต่างๆ ตามระดับความสูงของพื้นที่ UNDULATING MOUNTAIN TERRAINS RURAL AND SUBURBAN CULTURAL LANDSCAPE CITY SCAPES URBAN SEASIDE AND ISLAND การออกแบบรูปเล่มหนังสือเล่มนี้ก็เช่นเดียวกัน โดยกำหนดเฉดสีให้กับแต่ละ Terrain เพื่อให้เห็นความแตกต่างของพื้นที่ในแต่ละโซน รวมถึงแถบสีนั้นมาใช้เป็น graphic element ที่ขอบนอกของหน้าหนังสือ เพื่อพิกัดถึงตำแหน่งที่ตั้งของโครงการตามความสูงของพื้นที่ด้วย ที่มา: หนังสือ Embracing the Landscape
ย้อนหลังไปก่อนโควิด 19 เราได้รับการติดต่อจาก L49 จะทำหนังสือ Monograph รวบรวมผลงานในวาระครบรอบ 30 ปี สิ่งที่เรา kick off กันในวันแรกที่เริ่มคุย คือ “เราจะนำเสนอผลงานหลายร้อยโครงการที่ผ่านมาตลอด 30 ปีนี้ ไว้ในหนังสือได้อย่างไร” . Brainstorm L49 ใช้วิธีปริ้นท์ภาพผลงานทั้งหมดที่เคยทำมาติดไว้ที่ผนังห้องประชุมเพื่อให้สตาฟฟ์ทุกคนมาโหวตโครงการเด่นๆ ที่คิดว่าเหมาะสมในการตีพิมพ์ในหนังสือ จนในที่สุดก็คัดได้ออกมากว่า 40 โครงการ .
