The starting point of this low-rise residential project in Hua Hin takes its root in the importance of the original trees and intends to enliven “THE INTERRELATION OF LIFE.”
The open space accentuates a rhythmic continuity in each area of the project, while blending the green shades and foliage of the preserved trees into the new environment. The simple lines scroll throughout the site to reconnect the living space back to nature, in the simplest fashion. Local plants come to the fore in combination with the additional trees to render a relaxing atmosphere. There are four design concepts shaping the physical characteristic of each zone.
.
The ‘Panoramic Touch’ creates an unobstructed panoramic view of the sea. It serves as a transition area between the seaside and inland area. Only to smoothen an easy strolling, The seminal idea for this area is to avoid altering the existing landscape as much as possible, to keep most of the existing trees and refining the places with salt-tolerant plants,
.
The ‘Gentle Touch’ zone is about arriving into a calm and cozy atmosphere in both public areas and private living units. This zone serves as the main axis in the site planning while the ‘Amusement Touch’ zone in the southwest of the site, maintains the unity of the second axis. An elevated ground level separates the pedestrian walk from the car traffic, for users’ protection and safety as well as keeping apart the disturbance from the street.
.
The simple and clean lines play a major role to keep the balance between the two largest zones, while spatial rhythm and the continuity of space come to the fore to show the differences of each area to users. For this project, a memorable moment is an everyday-life event. The preserved existing trees live to give shades in the sunny day but also provide the unique foliage corners a laid-back temperament. The place is designed with an integrated user experience in mind. Thus, the hardscape design emphasis is about being humble but also has a lively role to play.
.
The ‘Amusement Touch’ comes with a lively interrelation of existing trees, water features and swimming pool, bringing about diverse viewpoints and ever changing experiences. Some areas look like virtual islands with trees.
.
The ‘Serene Touch’ at southeast of site is on lower ground than the rest and adjacent to many other areas. Its location makes this site an ideal choice for a peaceful garden where users can relax, spend time to converse or read.
